ready for a new start?

We've all been there! Perhaps this is a new chapter on your fitness journey or you are completely new to exercise. Whatever your story, situation or circumstance you wouldn't be reading this if you weren't ready to make some changes. We know starting is quite often the hardest bit, but trust us - you're certainly not alone!

what to expect

If you have never visited Hourglass before, get ready to dive in to a whole host of awesomeness! Seriously though, if you are brand new then come down and visit us. We'd love to give you a tour of the place, show you what we have to offer and find out more about how we can help you. We offer all newcomers a free trial of one of our classes - check out our timetable and contact us to book your spot!

1 | LEAVING THE HOUSE

Make sure you're wearing the right gear! If you're taking a sweaty class, it's best to wear breathable materials, better still - anything with sweat-wicking properties! Trainers are necessary for most of our sessions, but we practice in bare feet or socks in our lower intensity classes like Yoga and Pilates.

Don't forget to bring a drink! If you forget, don't worry - we sell bottles of water and have a water dispenser in club.

2 | ARRIVING AT HOURGLASS

We have a bit of a discreet entrance! We're opposite the local fire station down a long alleyway - if you can't find us, give us a ring or follow the music!

Once you get into the club, let us know you're new! If you're here for a class, aim to arrive 10-15 minutes early as we need you to fill out a short health questionnaire before the class begins.
3 | IN THE CLASS

Talk to the instructor! Let them know you’re new, if you have any injuries or are pregnant, so they can help you with modifications or questions you might have. Make sure you pay attention to what equipment you might need!

Remember to breathe, have fun, lose yourself and most importantly, don't worry! Do as much as you can during the class, and take a break if you need to - there's no judgement here!

4 | AFTER THE CLASS

WELL DONE! You smashed it! Make sure you chat to a member of staff on reception about the class! Ask any questions you might have, ask for recommendations for more classes, book more classes, fall in love with us! Try to make it out the door without smiling, it's practically impossible!
