FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. How do I become a member of Hourglass Fitness Club?
It is so simple to join us and it can now all be done online. If you know which membership you are after and wish to pay monthly on either a 6 or 12 month agreement please click on the 'memberships & join online' tab to follow the sign up online steps get yourself started! You have 4 dates in the month to choose from to set up the direct debit, the 1st, 8th, 15th or 25th of the month. Depending on which you choose there will be a pro-rata payment and the joining fee to pay upon your first visit to the club. The pro-rata amount is the difference from when you join to the 1st DD payment. If you would prefer to pay for your membership upfront or if you would like to speak to someone for advice in regards to membership and what would suit you best, please pop in and see us or get in touch so we can book you an appointment.
2. Where can I park?
We are fortunate to be situated with a car park right outside Hourglass. There is also many free places to park very closeby on the surrounding roads. The car park next door is free from 5pm weekdays and also on Sundays.
3. Can I have a look around?
Of course! Please pop in if you are passing! There is usually someone free to show you around, however to ensure someone is available or if you wish to speak to one of our qualified trainers please book an appointment to avoid any disappointment. Whilst at the club an advisor can find out more about you and your goals and help with class recommendation and the best ways to get you started!
4. Where is Hourglass? How do I get in?!
Our entrance is fairly discreet, we are part of the Dover town hall building. Our entrance is next to the police station and opposite the fire station. You can see our studio windows which are the length of Ladywell car park, but the entrance is just around the corner on the main road.
5. Will I receive any fitness advice or help knowing how to meet my goals?
Absolutely! You just have to say the word. As a new member you will have the opportunity to book upon joining for this complimentary service but it is also available for any member at any stage of their membership. This can be booked over the phone or at reception for 1-2-1 consultation with fitness professional. Our 'memberfile' service has proved incredibly beneficial for so many of our members and is a fantastic way to record your progress, identify your goals and motivate you to reach them.
6. Can I try a class to check it's for me?
No problem! A trial session is complimentary, please pick a class from our timetable and let us know what you would like to give a go, please note booking is essential.
7. How old do I have to be to join your fitness club?
You must be 16 years of age to join HG. If under 18, parental consent is necessary. All those under 18 receive a 10% discount.
8. Are there any additional costs to my membership fee?
We have a joining fee when setting up memberships on a monthly payment scheme. The current joining fee is just £10. But apart from that, it's all included! All memberships are fully inclusive of unlimited classes!
9. Am I eligible for a discount?
We offer a 10% discount to all full-time students and senior members! Get in touch to see if you qualify!
